Relocating production from Shropshire to Newmains, Lanarkshire, proved no problem to Armcon Cementech customer CPM group, thanks to the rapid turn-around that their SCD 6100 volumetric concrete mixer made possible. The pre-cast pipe and chamber manufacturer, who have recently achieve BSI recognition, were able to have the machine moved, installed and running within three days.

“The Cementech’s unique mode of operation, the speed of installation and commissioning and also significant cost savings on foundations and the separate aggregate storage facility clinched the deal.” says CPM Group MD, Mike Stacey.

In its new home, the machine feeds two casting machines, one making pipe and the other manhole chambers. The SCD6100 offers a 6m³ materials capacity with a potential output of 22m³ per hour. “It’s very, very good,” says Mike. “It’s reliable, it produces a consistent mix and it offers very good control of cement content.” It is reported that the machine is producing concrete which easily exceeds the BSI requirement for crush while working to minimum cement content in the mix.
