Pumpmaster – Armcon Cementech’s revolutionary new auger solves the problem of using volumetric mixers with concrete pumps at no extra cost. Armcon Cementech has announced the launch of a revolutionary new mixing auger which solves the problem of matching top-fed concrete pumps with volumetric mixers. Designated the Pumpmaster, the new auger is the only one of its kind in operation in Europe today. Central to Pumpmaster’s ability to maintain pressures at a high delivery angle of up to 45 degrees is the design of the auger’s paddles which completely seal the mixing chamber – ensuring that even the most liquid of mixes does not run back. Its unique design in fact enables Cementech volumetric mixers to deliver concrete at an angle over 50% steeper than competing machines. That gives it a discharge height of 1.83 metres (6 feet) with 6-inch slump concrete - which also makes it ideal for pre-casting work. Low operating costs and long service life are designed in, as the Pumpmaster’s paddles are fully replaceable. Another factor which will ensure Pumpmaster’s popularity with operators, is that it is available as a no-cost option on Armcon Cementech mobile and static 100,130 and 150 series volumetric mixers. Pumpmaster’s effectiveness, according to Armcon’s Technical Manager, Richard Calder, lies in the grouping of the paddles. “While the pitch of the helix remains the same as on standard machines, “ he explains, “the paddles are grouped more closely together at the discharge end of the auger - completely filling the mixing chamber, and sealing it - thus preventing the mix slipping back. Our previous models could deliver a 30° discharge angle, while most volumetric mixers just about manage a maximum of 20°,” says Richard. “An Armcon Cementech unit with a Pumpmaster auger will easily cope with a 45° discharge angle.” The need for great accuracy in mixing concrete for pumps makes Armcon Cementech mixers particularly suited to this application: operators have been able to achieve a class-leading, QSRMC-certified accuracy of ±1% in normal operation. In
addition to their ability to meet QSRMC
standards, the Cementech mixers allow
operators to deliver precise volumes
of fresh concrete, on site, at up to
1.5m² per minute. |
