The
hopper has a capacity of 40 tonnes of cement (density 1.2), and is
loaded under pressure from bulk road tankers. A blow-up pinch valve
prevents damage from overloading during delivery. Audible and visual
high and low level alarms are provided. A pulsed aeration system aids
free flow of cement to the silo auger.
A ladder gives access
to the top of silo and the swing down bridge that facilitates access
over the lorry hatches. Both areas are guarded by hand railings and
security chains. Sited within this area is a reverse jet air filter
system that prevents leakage of cement dust to atmosphere during loading
and operation, a pressure relief valve and an access man hole.
An
inclined auger transfers the cement from the horizontal silo auger to
the flexible outlet that fits into the mixers cement hopper access lid.
A hand held control unit provides independent control over both cement
augers and the water pump from the access bridge. External lighting can
be provided for night-time operation.
The 4,500 litre glass
reinforced fibre water tank and 300 litre/minute pump, connects to the
mixer via a quick release hose coupler to replenish the on-board water
tank.
The silo is designed to fall outside of planning
regulations, and can be sited at any convenient point providing vehicle
access, electricity and water. |
